1. Up-do or down? It’s a combination of individual’s choice, hair length, theme, and style of their dress.
2. What are three must-have products for any bride? Lipstick #1, face powder, & hairspray.
3. What are the newest chic hairstyles for brides? A tousled asymmetrical chignon with long piecey bangs, and 1940′s era.
4. Should hair be done the day before or the day of the wedding? Color, highlights, haircut, and trial hairstyle should be done before the wedding. Hair shouldn’t be shampooed the day of wedding to save time on styling.

Krystal Burrell (makeup artist)
1. Do you have any recommendations on colors that work well with different wedding dress styles and colors? For any wedding, I would recommend simply enhancing your natural features. Most brides need to have that glow that looks so beautiful on anyone. But if I had to chose an ideal look for each dress, I would go with natural/nude makeup with a light glow and pink lips for a white dress. A bronze smokey eye would be great with a champagne dress. Ivory dresses can do any look from a soft bronze smokey eye to a natural shimmer shadow with enhanced, deep colored lips. Non-traditional dresses (black, red, etc.) can do deep eyes, or red lips, plum blush looks good on anyone and you can never go wrong with highlighter, Now the style of dress does not matter much, makeup enhances the face which brings out the best in your dress.
2. What is one makeup item that every bride should have? That one makeup item every bride should have is bronzer or highlighter. Remember that fair-skinned women do not need bronzer too much, a highlighter gives fair-skinned women a real natural glow because all women are not tanned.
3. What tips do you have for making makeup last during an outdoor wedding?
Primer, Primer, Primer. You cannot make your makeup last without a primer and a setting powder. You need to prime your lid and face before makeup application. After applying the foundation, use a setting powder to make sure the makeup stays put all day long.
4. Why should a bride utilize a makeup artist instead of a friend, or doing it themselves? Any money saving tips when it comes to using a makeup artist?
A bride cannot replace the pictures, time or memories of her wedding. Once it is done, it is done. The reason a bride should utilize a makeup artist instead of using a friend or doing it themselves is because a professional will ensure you have the best makeup application. You need to be and deserve to be pampered on your wedding day and should not bother trying to do your own makeup. Your friend may be good at applying her own makeup, but the only face she is used to is her own. If she does not have experience in applying makeup on different skin types, tones and eye shapes, what you see on her face may not look as good on yours. Keep this in mind when considering a makeup artist and do not forget to do a consultation prior to the wedding.
When it comes to using a makeup artist, money saving tips are to see if they offer a group discount if you plan to get the entire wedding party made up. This is a recommendation because that ensures a uniform look for the wedding photos. You can also see if they offer free consultations and if the price changes if you provide the makeup. In times where budgets are small, these tips can help you save money. Keep in mind though that you pay for quality. Quality over quanity is a definite motto to live by.
5. What is your best tip for any bride? The best thing you can do on your wedding day is SMILE. Try you best to keep calm, have a great attitude, and then all else will fall into place.

Julia Koublitskaia (florist)
1. Which flowers are best for which seasons based on cost, availability, and looks? Summer? Spring? Fall? Winter? I would say that there is no such concept as the “best” flower. It all depends on Bride’s vision, budget and “style” of the wedding. As far as the price is concerned, flowers which are in season have the most affordable pricing. Such flowers as roses, irises, gladiolas, alstromeria are available throughout the year, and can present sophisticated and elegant look for the bouquets
2. Why should a bride choose fresh flowers over silk flowers? Fresh flowers are more elegant, and “play” better for the photography aspect of the wedding event
3. How can a bride on a budget get fresh flowers for her wedding? Check with the Florist and be true in convening the budget and ask for unique floral ideas to cater to your own budget or call Fine Weddings NOLA for an advise
4. What is your best piece of advice for any bride? Be open minded with new types of the flowers you have never imagined to use, there is a rainbow of WOW possibilities to be elegant and unique as far as flowers are concerned!

Anne Marie Popko (headpiece designer)
1. There are many different shaped faces/heads out there. Are their any specific hair pieces that work best for different face shapes? It really depends on a client’s taste and how they feel about themselves. When I work with a bride, I try to follow their lead…if they tend towards more subtle pieces, I will help them find something subtle, because they know what works on them. I definitely will not sell anyone a piece if I don’t think it flatters them.
2. Is it necessary to use white/ivory/champagne pieces for wedding dresses? If not, what are some of your recommendations for color? Most brides do go for the traditional white or ivory dress, but I think metallics like gold and silver are gorgeous and really make the bride shine. Another option is to bring in accents of color with a headpiece or with a belt. Some brides will play up the colors in their bridesmaid’s dresses and wear a bit of that color in their hair and in their bouquet.
3. Headpiece vs. traditional veil. What is your take on this match up and why? Many brides these days want a few different looks for their wedding day. A great way to do this is to wear a birdcage veil and a hair accessory for the ceremony and then switch to just the hair accessory for the reception. Veils can be very special, with chenille dots or bits of lace or Swarovski crystals and some brides might not want to take them off. I think you can do anything you want, there are no rules, and if someone tries to boss around the bride, they are in for trouble.
4. What is your best advice for any bride? Be comfortable and be yourself. Too much makeup, too much hair and too much dress can prevent you from having a relaxed, blissful day. You really want to enjoy yourself and feel the wonderful, loving energy of your friends and family. When you try on your dress and accessories, make sure that you feel gorgeous and glamorous, then shake your head around and shake your booty in the dressing room to make sure that you can dance the night away, feeling carefree, sexy and special.
